WILLIAM ENGLISH - DIRTY ADDICTION - SWEATSHOP - SHITTY SEQUELS £2

EMERGENCY SERVICES PRESENT -

A night of 'dance yer tits off' rock 'n' roll featuring...

WILLIAM ENGLISH - Norfolk punks come south of the border to defile our homes, take our women and play ballsy guitar in our sacred places.

DIRTY ADDICTION - Ipswich's very own 'Next Big Thing's play swaggering rock for your enjoyment. Impeccable hair (all band members).

SWEATSHOP - It's all the worst, and therefore best, parts of stupidly fast 80's hardcore on one 7" played at the wrong speed by three Ipswich kids, plus some bits which sound like other bits to break up the break-neck.

THE SHITTY SEQUELS - Suffolk's newest punk purveyors, combine classic rock 'n' roll themes with low-fi beats and a terrifying propensity for inappropriately high speed soloing. 'Wall of sound' style fun.

... PLUS deejays spinning tunes from those well-known genres of music called punk, reggae, motown, psych, garage rock, college rock, ska, blues, rockabilly, sixties girl groups, eighties hardcore, new wave, kraftwerk, girls aloud and more...

Venue is 10 minute's walk from the Station!

Hello

Welcome me hearties!

This is the blog of Ipswich based DIY promoters The Emergency Services (duh!). We're gonna try and put on around a show a month featuring the best live bands Ipswich has to offer, regardless of age or style of music (except folk, folk is for nerds). The shows will be as close to all ages as we can get them and the door money will be split between the bands after our expenses are covered (cocaine, Indian head massages etc.). We're also gonna keep things fresh by booking bands from other towns, cities and nations to come and play for your good selves as variety is the spice of life as my old Mum used to say (she's not dead she just no longer believes it).

If you wanna get involved, we'd love to hear from you, whether you're in a band who wants to play, a DJ who wants to spin in-between bands, an artist who could design a flyer, a writer who could immortalise us in zine form or just a dirty punk who wants to help us flyer in town and get in for free. Drop us a line at emergencyserviceshotline@gmail.com.

Without getting all bloody weepy on you playing gigs in Ipswich is a pretty mercenary affair and we wanna try and create a community where we help each other out and have a shit load of fun in the process. If you're in it to break big or make money don't call us, if you're looking for a good time however, you came to the right (cyber)place.

Keep checking back here for info on shows and other mischief we're getting up to in your ruddy back yard. The first show is on July 21st at the Polish Bar, 37-39 Vernon Street, Ipswich, IP2 8JA, and we'll announce the line-up here, probably by the end o' the week.

missin' you already x

ps. why not come on our facebook here?
